Calf Creek Ranch is in the heart of Texas, located northwest of Brady and northeast of Mason. It’s topography is typical of this geographical region of Texas. Vegetation includes live oaks, mesquite, prickly pear and other native plans to the region.
Calf Creek Ranch was founded in 1880 by Johann and Johanna Wilhelm. Because of the high quality of the wool produced, Johanna Wilhelm was known as the “Sheep Queen of Texas.”
Wildlife include deer, turkey, dove, turtles, snakes, armadillo, rabbits, lizards, road runners, blue herons, and the rare golden-cheeked warbler.
